How to remove speaker notes and hidden content from PowerPoint

Not sure what's hiding in your document? Check it free. It runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your computer.
When you send a deck instead of presenting it, the people you send it to get everything in the file: your speaker notes, slides you hid, things parked just off the edge of a slide, and comments from whoever reviewed it.
Speaker notes
- Open View › Notes Page to see every slide's notes at a glance.
- To remove them all on Windows: File › Info › Check for Issues › Inspect Document, tick Presentation Notes, click Inspect, then Remove All.
- On a Mac, delete the notes slide by slide in the notes pane under each slide.
Hidden slides
- Open View › Slide Sorter. Hidden slides show their number crossed through.
- Delete any you don't want the recipient to see. Hiding a slide only skips it in a slideshow; it's still in the file.
Content off the edge of a slide
- In Normal view, zoom out (View › Zoom, around 30%) so you can see the area around each slide.
- Anything sitting outside the slide, such as old text boxes or pictures, is still in the file. Delete it.
Hidden objects and comments
- Hidden objects: Home › Arrange › Selection Pane lists everything on the slide. An object with a closed-eye icon is hidden; show it or delete it.
- Comments: open the Review tab, then Comments, and delete them, or use Delete › Delete All Comments in This Presentation.
- Author names: File › Info shows the author and other properties. Document Inspector (above) can remove them.
Or check it in seconds
Drop the file into the free Clean Retype check and it lists what's hiding inside: author names, comments, hidden sheets and rows, speaker notes, earlier versions, and text still sitting under black boxes.
